Our team / Europe
The European team is in charge of coordinating efforts to set up offices throughout Europe, in partnership with local cultural organisations. It also leads on projects that are international by nature: researching mobility, setting up web platforms that provide tools and solutions throughout Europe, etc.

Leen Scholiers
PR & Communication Officer
Leen has been with SMart for several years now, and brings with her a knowledge of the tools and services offered in Belgium. She coordinated the international development team for a couple of year before leaving on a world trip. Currently she is working alongside the general manager and represents SMart at international conferences and networks.
Sarah de Heusch
Advocacy/Networks Project Officer
Sarah started her SMart adventure at the Research Unit. She currently works on advocacy and consolidating SMart’s participation in international and academic networks.
Marie Reiter
Project Officer – EMIS
Bringing with her experience in research and project management in international organisations, Marie works on national and European funding applications. She also assists the German team establishing in Berlin.
Sergio Giorgi
European Development Officer
Sergio has project management experience in microcredit and international institutions all over the world. He is responsable for the follow-up of the developments of SMart in different European countries.
